When you love all things Volkswagen, then you must love the annual event called Fastivus. Eugene Lee has been hosting this VW tradition for over a decade. I recently drove past the Speedzone venue of yesteryear’s. Speedzone was the original venue for the event, which is in the City of Industries, Los Angeles. Starting life as a Golf R32 specific event, the evolution towards a “Fast” based event was inevitable to include everything VW. We are happy to see this evolution in bring together the love of the dub.
Volkswagen corporate was heavily involved this year and that is a wonderful thing. They had an amazing array of display vehicles and their promotional area had giveaways better than last year. Fastivus is the go to event for anyone who enjoys the lifestyle and culture surrounding the VW brand. From original beetles to the all-new Alltrack to the Amarok truck, VW had everything to showcase.
Fastivus would not be complete without the Motorsports aspect. The Fontana Auto Club Speedway is perfect venue to allow the many Fastivian’s to show off the performance aspects of the VW brand. Tanner Foust and Scott Speed were on site to give the fan’s a little taste. You cannot enjoy Fastivus without also enjoying corners of the race track. Check out the VW captured video below.
The real beauty of all car events and Fastivus, is meeting old friends and new friends. Fastivus definitely fulfilled that enjoyment. The spectrum of vendors & sponsors lined the pits. The friendship of preparing the track vehicles in the garage was buzzing. The European car culture is striving and flourishing. If you want to join in on this type of fun, please make sure to keep up-to-date on next year’s event. You will not be disappointed.
